Proofreader and transcriber

Spellcheckers have their place but, whatever you write, it’s crucial that you have a second pair of – human – eyes look over your creation before you share your genius with the rest of the world.

I’m a trained proofreader – qualified with distinction – and registered with the CIEP, our industry’s governing body. I’m also an approved proofreader with two national educational publishers. I’ll take your written creations – whether personal, professional, academic or commercial – and give them that vital final edit and polish that only a trained human professional can do. With a typing speed of over 70 words per minute I also provide transcription services.

I’m at ease proofreading educational resources (most subjects and learning levels) along with works relating to travel and tourism, language, literature, art, urban design, business and commerce, charity and social prescription.

My career to date is testimony to my love of words and language. I’m a former translator and project manager of multilingual translation and interpreting projects, working with clients and suppliers worldwide. I’ve also worked in the travel industry and travelled extensively myself. I have a degree in French and Spanish and have also studied English language and linguistics.

On the side, I write short stories for pleasure and help to run a charity that teaches adults in Preston how to read, which involves bid writing, raising funds and networking with adult support agencies. If in doubt about whether I can help you, just ask!
