Helen is a composer and violinist living in the North of England. Winning Best Sound Design for scoring documentary Eva at Film Fest International 2023, Helen is often approached for her experience in string and ensemble writing. Helen’s music ranges from mysterious documentary underscore through to classical pastiche. Helen enjoys working with electronic undercurrents and her blending of violin and voice can be heard in her Ambient Folk, debut EP Aftermath, released in 2021. Helen’s most recent single Hallucinations was recently played on BBC Introducing Lancashire.

 

Classically trained at The University of Manchester Helen plays violin as a session musician, most recently on the end credits of Channel 4’s The Jury:Murder Trial.

 

Film projects for 2024 include Up and Down (Evolution Film), The Awakening (Artica Films), Show Pony (Knock and Nash), Gone Fishing (MancMade). in 2024 Helen has released library album ‘Coallescence’ for Little Wren Music and licensed tracks with Resister Music.

 

Helen works from her home studio in Preston, working in Logic Pro. Helen plays violin, piano and sings and also has access to a range of fabulous remote musicians! Helen was a mentor on the Norther Cohort of the WFTV Mentoring scheme 2024, mentored by Ben Foster.
