Preston Caribbean Carnival Ltd

Preston Caribbean Carnival Ltd

Preston Caribbean Carnival is an annual carnival event in Preston, Lancashire consisting of a procession through urban streets and a family fun day on Moor Park. 2023 will be the 49th Caribbean Carnival and will showcase newly created large piece costumes produced by well known, reputable carnival artists. The theme is traditional ‘Mas Characters.’ Local and visiting dance troupes will perform along with other groups – salsa, samba and steelpan on and following trucks along the route and afterwards on stage on Moor Park, Preston as part of a family fun day. Live performers and DJ will entertain throughout the afternoon with Caribbean and international food and drinks available to the public. Childrens activities, inflatables and rides will be arranged to encourage all ages.

In 2024, it will be the 50th anniversary of the event in Preston and we are planning an even bigger and better celebration including past large carnival pieces refreshed and recycled, more dance troupes found locally and visiting from other carnivals and additional drummers and performers on the procession and park stage throughout the weekend.

Throughout 2023 we will be creating and developing new dance troupes as part of the 2024 celebrations and are looking for community groups from all cultures who are interested in taking part.
