Jane Weyman
ArtistI have just finished studying Fine Art (B.A. Honours) at Blackburn University. After completing my dissertation on climate issues and artists responses to it, I changed my own practice to make my art as ecologically sound as possible, sourcing materials that have minimal impact on the environment.
I mostly paint, sketch and use charcoal, but will try anything on condition it is ecologically sound. I now only use earth based pigments and water mixable oil paints, with no harsh solvents, brush cleaners or other mediums.
I also volunteer with Homegrown Homespun, a project to grow, harvest, spin, weave and dye flax and woad into denim, with the aim of making regenerative fashion. I love the community focus and the wonderful mix of people working on it.
