Burning Light Arts is the working name of Helen Yates (nee Callaghan), a Lancashire based artist with an extensive background in arts development and formal and non formal teaching. Helen has a base studio in Lancashire set on the River Wyre. From here she works throughout the North of England using her background in Participatory and Public Arts, Arts Education and Arts Development to help others bring the arts to life in their area.
Public artworks include installations focusing on objects as holders of stories and memory.
Studio art works unearth the human story found in the historical record, using wax and plaster to present the findings.
School commissions, workshops and installations promote connected learning through research and exploring processes and materials.
As a skilled project manager her creative role expands to include commissioning and all aspects of managing high profile projects for communities and organisations.
