Lee Devonish

artist & writer.

I’m a visual artist originally from Barbados but based in Accrington.

My work has focused on representations of masculinity and the idea of a feminine gaze, but my current projects encompass money and value.

I paint (in oils and watercolours), make sculptures in a variety of materials, and make prints (screen printing and block printing).

I’ve written essays about race, gender and contemporary art theory, and I work as an editor for various websites, including my two of own.

On leedevonish.com I display visual artwork and write about selected pieces, as well as writing, blogging and theories that are of interest to me.

I completed my BA (Hons) Fine Art at the University of Kent in 2012, and my MA in Contemporary Art Theory at Goldsmiths UoL in 2013.
