Bonker*s Clutterbucks

Bonker*s Clutterbucks are a husband (Peter Caruana) and wife (Kate Caruana) team who met in the early 1990’s at Winchester School of Art. Peter studied painting while Kate specialised in woven textiles. Since 2011 they have collaborate on artwork from their home in an Old Corn Warehouse in Lancashire, working in a diverse range of materials to produce 3D dioramas, model kits and 3D models. They particularly enjoy working in card and papier-mâché, up-cycling found objects, vintage papers, maps, score sheets, tins, boxes, teapots and suitcases. They love objects with integrity, that bare the marks of time, patinas that tells a story. They are passionate about whimsical modes of transport, in particular hot air balloons with which they’ve become synonymous, but also travelling fairs, circuses, nostalgic notions of exploration, enchanted forests, period costume, fables, folklore and storytelling.
